"Fly down to Mexico-oh-whoa-oh"

Unlike our Europe trip, it seems a bit overkill to give our Mexico trip - for pure relaxation purposes- that kind of coverage. There were no excursions sadly (and gladly); just beach and food.

I know that there is a mildly popular belief out there that the Mr and I just vacation non-stop. I wonder if it is even a waste of blog real estate to make the point that we haven't been on a straight up vacation with each other since our Honeymoon two years ago? Probably. We have been immersed in inversion from hell, asthma and allergy attacks, funerals, surgeries, and lots of yee-yuck for the last several months, and with Toms schedule about to pick up drastically, we seized a great spring break deal to Puerto Morelos, Mexico to stay in an all-inclusive resort.

Neither of us had ever done it, there was time, there was a deal and we said, "Why not?" We are not born again yuppies and we have not started calling each other muffy and darling - although now we might. That said, the trip was perfect if completely uneventful. Think waking up every morning getting bathing suited and suncreened, eating a lot of all-inclusive food, hitting the beach and the pool until the sun went down, reading a lot of 'beach literature' (which feels like eating all of your Halloween candy in one night and spends an inordinate amount of page space using words like 'Manolo Blahnik' and 'Prada' like they're verbs), ordering 'free' drinks all day, 'dressing up' for dinner at the all-inclusive restaurants at night, and watching Aaron Sorkin entertainment until we couldn't keep our eyes and brains open anymore. No Internet or phone and hardly any work. Rinse and repeat for 4 days and I have just described my ideal relaxation-vacation. And it was.
